Who is Scout Works? Scout Works is run by me, Wes.
My family has been farming in Parkland County (Keephills, Stony Plain) since 1900 and I guess you can say that it’s in my blood. I’ve been chasing a dream of trying to merge my passions for model aviation and agriculture for a few years now and I’ve decided to do exactly that with building Scout Works as it's lead Crop Scout and Drone Operator.
What’s in a name?
I've always had a passion for aviation and everything remote controlled. Since 2007 I've been flying RC airplanes and helicopters and building my own custom drones since 2015. Some of the manufacturing processes for certain components are a little on the smelly side and combining a few factors related to that with crop scouting gave birth to the name Scout Works. It's a play on the famed Skunk Works that produced record breaking aircraft such as the SR-71 Blackbird.
Mixing Crop Scouting with Skunk Works gave us Scout Works.
Scout Works is proudly dedicated to providing timely and cost-effective data to farmers in Parkland County and Leduc County.
Our goal is to help small and mid-size farms reach their maximum productivity by identifying and challenging problems in their fields, before they affect their bottom line.
At Scout Works, we believe in sustainable and responsible farming practices. We use only the latest practices and equipment, and we work closely with our clients to develop customized solutions that meet their unique needs.
