What is Crop Scouting?
Crop Scouting has long been the farmers best line of defense against problems growing in their crops. Traditionally, Crop Scouting is done by walking the field and inspecting the crop one plant at a time. When scouting your crops by foot, it is common to follow the same path and only look at a small portion of your field. This often leads to only 6-13% of the plants being looked at. Using the latest software and drone technology, Scout Works can cover 100% of your field every time.
Using the latest in drone technology, Scout Works is able to cover an entire section in as little as 45 minutes! In-Field processing means that not only can you have all of your fields checked in a single day, but you also have the results in your email by the next business day.
The data collected can be shared to you via email, or with a USB.
Some of the files can even be directly loaded into your equipment.
All the major brands of smart ag technology are covered, like Trimble and Deere!
These results can indicate anomalies in your crop such as higher-than-average plant densities, indicating the possibility of weed growth, as well as lower-than-average plant densities, indicating insect or nutritional infuences. Other results are NDVI (Normalised Difference Vegetative Index) maps that show plant stress by measuring the clorophyll levels and displaying them in an easy to read colour coded map.

Diseases are not always as evident as this. Root diseases, stem diseases and many others require a close eye.
Many diseases cause a rapid loss of chlorophyl production and are very quickly evident with the NDVI maps.
If caught early enough, these can be treated.
If not, they can be measured and used for insurance claims.
Damages from severe weather or other factors can be mapped and used for insurance claims.
